January 28: The class XII results have been declared. Of the 6,530 students who sat for the exam last year, over 87% have passed. This is a slight increase from the previous year.

Yeshey Samdrup, a science student from Motithang Higher Secondary School topped the exam with 90%.

Thinley Dorji, also a science student from Yangchenphug Higher Secondary School came second with 88%.

The third place went to Sonam Tshering, a science student from Drugyel Higher School and Depen Chhetri, another science student from Ugyen Academy. They scored 87.7%.

The results will be posted on the website of the education ministry, www.education.gov.bt and druknet at www.druknet.bt by tomorrow afternoon.
