Not content with a doctorate from the prestigious Cornell University, the candidate Dr. Sonam Wangyel Wang, from Lingmukha-Toedwang in Punakha went on to study Public Administration from Harvard.
He brings wealth of experience from his former roles as Director of the Royal Education Council and Environmental Specialist and head of the royal government’s Nature Conservation Division.
Apart from addressing human-wildlife conflicts, he seeks to ensure that the people of his constituency get the maximum economic benefit they can from the Punatsangchu Hydropower Project.

Former National Council Chairperson Namgye Penjore has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Sherubtse College, and a Master’s Degree in Business with a specialization in Marketing and Finance.
Before becoming a Member of Parliament, he worked for some of the most important corporations in the country. He seeks to develop the Punakha tromde, improve transport and communication facilities in his constituency, and support agriculture and livestock initiatives in Punakha.
Namgye Penjore is known to be a highly approachable leader, an eloquent speaker and chear-headed thinker.
