Nandalal Rai, 58, has a degree in Bachelor of Arts Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi and was trained as a military officer at India’s prestigious National Defence Academy.
Commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1976, he has worked in various capacities within the Royal Bhutan Army. He served as the Minister for Information and Communications in Bhutan’s first democratically elected government.
His recent term steering brave new directions in MOIC will enable the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa to consolidate and extend the nation’s ambitious ICT endeavors begun under the last democratic government.

Karma D Wangdi is the former National Council member from Sarpang Dzongkhag. As the Deputy Director of Information and Communications Division in BCCI, he managed crucial World Bank and European Union projects, and strengthened the information & communications network for the organization.
He has a BA (Economics) from Sherubtse College and a Post Graduate degree in IT from University of Technology in Sydney, in addition to a Post Graduate Diploma in management from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
If elected to represent the people of Gelephu constituency, he will assure that a bridge over the Mao-Khola is built. Reviving Gelephu’s economics activity and making it the gateway to Bhutan is another of this well-know candidate’s aspirations.
